At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Samsung unveiled its latest innovations in the form of two new laptop series: the Galaxy Book5 Pro and the Galaxy Book5 360, both powered by Intel’s cutting-edge Core Ultra Series 2 processors. The tech giant aims to enhance productivity and connectivity through these devices, making advanced features accessible to a broader audience. “We are thrilled to make Galaxy AI and cutting-edge innovation accessible to more people than ever before, addressing their unique productivity needs on PC and other Galaxy devices,” stated Samsung’s Executive Vice President, Changtae Kim. This focus on AI integration is evident through Samsung’s newly introduced features that build upon its existing ecosystem. Although Samsung opts not to label these laptops with the term “Copilot+ PC,” they certainly enhance user experience in a manner akin to existing smartphone functionalities. One of the notable features is called AI Select, which offers capabilities mirroring some of the Copilot features seen in Microsoft Edge. Additionally, the Photo Remaster tool leverages the laptop’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to retouch images and restore blurry photos, showcasing the integration of AI in creative processes. The partnership between Microsoft and Samsung is further illustrated through unique functionalities that Galaxy Book users can enjoy, such as the Phone Link feature. This allows seamless integration of Galaxy smartphones with Windows 11, offering unique tools that enhance productivity. Exciting new features are on the horizon, including Nearby Devices, Storage Share, Multi Control, Second Screen, and Quick Share, although these will be exclusive to future Samsung phone models, most likely the anticipated Galaxy S25 series. From a hardware standpoint, the Galaxy Book5 series embodies the latest technology advancements, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, delivering a significant upgrade in connectivity and performance. Specifics for each model reveal the diversity in their setups: the Galaxy Book5 Pro is available in both a 16-inch and a 14-inch variant, each boasting a stunning WQXGA+ AMOLED touch display that achieves refresh rates between 48 to 120 Hz. The 16-inch model weighs 3.44 pounds and incorporates options of 16GB to 32GB of RAM alongside storage capabilities of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD, all housed in an elegant gray chassis. The 14-inch version is slightly lighter at 2.71 pounds with identical display specifications and RAM/storage options. The Galaxy Book5 360 features a 15.6-inch Full HD AMOLED touchscreen, weighing 3.22 pounds, and is equipped with 16GB of RAM along with storage choices of 256GB or 512GB SSD. Pricing for this model starts at $1,699.99, catering to tech enthusiasts seeking high-performance on-the-go computing. Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Book5 Pro and Galaxy Book5 360 will make their debut in select markets, including Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the US, beginning in February. Interested consumers can find further information on Samsung’s official website. Samsung’s introduction of the Galaxy Book5 series highlights their ongoing commitment to innovation and enhancing user experience within their ecosystem, further solidifying their role as a leading player in the tech industry.
