Razer has made waves in the gaming community with the announcement of new handheld gaming accessories designed to elevate mobile gaming experiences. Among these innovations is the Handheld Dock Chroma, a flexible docking station that promises to convert phones, tablets, and portable consoles into powerful gaming centers. Scheduled for release on January 30, the dock will be available for preorder starting today, January 7, at a competitive price of $79.99.

The Handheld Dock Chroma is cleverly marketed as a “6-in-1” solution that complements high-definition gameplay. It offers a robust 100W power passthrough to charge devices while simultaneously playing. Users can connect various handheld devices, including Android phones, iPads, iPhones with USB-C ports, the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, and Razer’s own Edge Android gaming handheld. The dock features a USB-C cable located at its rear, complemented by several ports, including an HDMI output for connecting to TVs or monitors, a gigabit ethernet port for a fast internet connection, and three USB-A ports for attaching controllers, keyboards, and other peripherals.

Notably, users of the Nintendo Switch will have to adjust their setup, as the USB-C placement demands that certain devices be docked upside down, given their port locations. With solid aluminum construction, the dock also conveniently folds down into a compact shape for travel, minimizing the risk of damage. True to Razer’s gaming heritage, the dock incorporates customizable Chroma RGB lighting at the front, allowing gamers to personalize their station with a variety of lighting effects.

In an exciting addition, Razer is introducing a new PC Remote Play feature for its Kishi Ultra mobile controller, as well as compatible devices. This function enables gamers to stream titles directly from their computers to smartphones and tablets, providing a seamless gaming experience. Leveraging the Kishi Ultra’s Sensa HD capability, which converts audio output into haptic feedback on supported Android devices, the remote play feature also supports streaming in full resolution without sacrificing visual fidelity or gameplay speed. However, iOS users will not benefit from the haptic feedback functionality.

Built on the popular Moonlight streaming client, Razer’s PC Remote Play is designed to enhance the gaming experience, optimizing games for the player’s phone’s native resolution and refresh rate. Gamers can access this feature through the Razer Nexus app, available on both iOS and Android, ensuring that a high-quality experience is accessible to a wide range of users. With these announcements, Razer solidifies its commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for mobile gaming enthusiasts, making it an exciting time for gamers seeking versatility and quality across their devices.
