Squid Game Season 3 is approaching its official release, generating significant excitement among fans who are eagerly discussing which games might appear next. While nothing is certain until the series premieres, we can speculate on some games thanks to the first official trailer. Released during the Netflix TUDUM 2025 event, the trailer unveiled some of the deadly games. Here, we discuss some Squid Game Season 3 games based on the trailer and clips.
Red Light, Green Light (With a Twist)

Squid Game Season 3 is set to reintroduce Red Light, Green Light. However, the trailers suggest that both the stakes and intensity will be higher. This time, the giant female doll Young-hee will be accompanied by a new male doll, Cheol-su.
If you recall, Cheol-su was teased in the post-credit scene of Season 2. In this season, not only will Cheol-su join the game, but the trailer also shows a train-like signal adding to the challenge.
The promotional trailer doesn’t give much away, but it indicates that Cheol-su and the signal will make it harder for players to avoid detection. Previously, players faced only one doll, but now, the threat has increased with a potential dual-detection system pushing players to the brink.
Gumball Machine Game

The Gumball Machine Game divides players into two teams: Red and Blue. The trailer shows players turning the machine dial one by one. If a red ball is dispensed, the player joins the red team room; if a blue ball, the blue team room. One team receives knives, the other keys.
The key holders must find a door that fits their key, while the knife-wielders must locate and eliminate opponents. The next round introduces a rotation mechanic, switching team roles: the previous knife team now holds keys, and vice versa.
Jump Rope Game

In Squid Game Season 2, contestants faced a deadly tug-of-war. Season 3 promises more intense challenges. The trailer shows a narrow track with the female doll holding one end of the rope. Although Cheol-su isn’t shown, he’s implied to hold the other end. Players must jump as the rope approaches their feet.
The trailer suggests each player must cross the bridge without being hit by the rope. If touched, they fall to their demise.
Lights Out
Lights Out, a deadly interlude between the main games in Season 2, will return in Season 3, claiming more lives. However, it remains a side event rather than a main game.
Squid Game (Not Teased But Likely)
The original Squid Game concluded Season 1, with Player 456 emerging victorious after Player 218’s elimination. Although Season 3’s trailer doesn’t tease it, it’s plausible the season could end with “The Squid Game.”
A Final Hidden Game (Revealed by the Director)
While the trailer hints at certain games, a hidden Squid Game Season 3 game will be revealed in the finale, confirmed by director Hwang Dong-hyuk. At a Seoul event, Hwang mentioned a secret game to be unveiled in the final act. We’ll have to wait to discover what it is.
